So it has been a while since I’ve done a photo study. However, before I start talking about the image I created. I just wanted to define what a study is for the purpose of this blog and to myself. A study is a simple and quick series of photographs to get a closer look a peculiar subject or theme. In this case “The Portrait and Hair”, is a study of how the subject and her hair affects the over all portrait.
A few things I’ve learned so far:
1. Form of the hair can affect the silhouette of the subject.
2. Placement of the subject’s hair can drastically change the portrait
3. Using the subject's hair as a prop for the hands gives the photograph a more dynamic feel
While I know for some this maybe a no brainier. In my case this study goes a long way to help better help my clients or my personal work get the image they wait or deserve.
What do you guys think? Is there anything I'm missing or do you think it just hair?
Until next time,
Alex
